Hello! I'm Ken Spencer, the proud owner of Blue Collar Electric based in Geneva, IL. My journey into the world of electrical contracting is rooted in a passion for making homes safer, more efficient, and simply better for the people living in them. This passion, combined with a desire to treat people right, led me to establish Blue Collar Electric.
My career began in residential electrical work, and I spent 14 years honing my skills with Union Pacific. The experience was invaluable, but I yearned for a chance to make a more personal impact. Moving to a larger company gave me broader insights, but it also highlighted the importance of genuine customer care and quality workmanship. After 24 years in the industry, I decided it was time to venture out on my own, with a commitment to offer the kind of service I believe every homeowner deserves.
At Blue Collar Electric, my approach to customer service is simple: treat every home as if it were my own. This means being personable, respectful, and always aiming to improve your home without overcharging. I believe in fair pricing for exceptional work, and I'm always there to help make your space better.
The favorite part of my work? Troubleshooting, modernizing homes, and the joy of seeing customers fall in love with their space all over again. There's something incredibly rewarding about solving electrical puzzles and upgrading homes to make them more modern and efficient.
Outside of work, I enjoy racing RC cars and spending quality time with my two dogs. These hobbies offer me a great balance to my professional life, allowing me to recharge and come back to each project with fresh eyes and renewed enthusiasm.
